چکیده مقاله:

Abstract:  Aims: End of Life (EOL) care providers potentially face by variety of legal and professional dilemma. This study is designed to review and analyze these challenges and approaches to solve them. Materials & Methods:   In this narrative review study, legal aspects of end-of-life care in subjects such as medical assisted dying, decision-making capacity and withdrawal of life-sustainingg and futile treatments were reviewed in 8 databases and 45 sources.  Findings:Medical assisted dying, withdrawing futile treatments and surrogate decision making are among the more important legal issues in EOL. There are rules and legislation for withdrawal of life sustaining treatments in many countries and trend of judicial procedures are to accepting such requests from patients or their surrogates. Gradually   more countries have also legalized assisted dying under restricted condition. Conclusion: The legal challenges facing EOL and how to deal with it varies among communities. It is generally recommended to avoid legal intervention as far as possible in litigation related to EOL issues.
